TERRIFIED SNOWMEN!!!

HUNGRY MISSIONARIES!!

Snowmen in Las Vegas! Small, but happy!
Jenna and her companion had a "ball"....
Jenna and her companion with a Casey, "a realy cool guy" who was just baptized!

"WOW! So another one of our investigators has a baptism date!!! HORRAY! Her name is Jamie, and we taught her my first night in the mission!!! The mission is going really well. Its SO MUCH HARD WORK!
In the morning while I’m jogging next to my companion witnessing the beautiful sunrise over the Nevada Mountains I keep seeing planes fly over me, but, I won’t be on one for 17 more months! The members here are SUPER strong and SUPER nice! Also, some of them are SUPER rich!!!! So dinner appointments are fun! Not everyone is rich, and actually Nevada (LV) still suffers greatly from the depression we are having.

My comp was in the doctors office yesterday, and while she was in there I asked this beautiful Hispanic mother for some Spanish help (I am trying to learn Spanish better) low and behold she gave me her phone number and told me to come over for more help! Wow! So then I told her about missionaries and we just started talking even more (in English haha.) Now we are teaching her and her family this Thursday! Hooray!!!! Also, whipping out those snappy pass along cards is fun!! I truly know we are able to teach here, through my random desire to learn Spanish better, even though my mission is English speaking. All of the less actives, new investigators, and recent converts are really cool! I feel a deep connection with ALL of them, it’s so neat. I just know its why I’m here. For some reason, their personality just matches with mine vice versa! :)

I have to say, me and my companion drive a Mazda 3! Way fun! We live 6.4 miles from the strip!!!! HA HA Las Vegas has poverty, some places are full of sorrow, full of pain and drama. How could it not?? Look at this, sin city? Not everyone is bad, but it’s a challenge for everyone to live here. Either you are really strong in a religious faith, or more over, not. :(

I can feel the evil spirits battling against the righteous here. I know it. There is good fighting against evil, evil against good and good thing we know which side is going to win! God’s side! That’s why every door we knock on, every prayer we say, every once of trying to bring souls to Christ is worth it. Missionary work is the greatest work there is, period. It’s also the most re-warding! "Bringing souls to Christ" hum hallelujah! haha!!!

I hope you are all doing your personal duty and sharing your testimony with as many people as possible. It can be profound or a simple thing, just that you know God lives and that you know your friend has a Father in Heaven who knows and loves them. That’s the greatest news there is, and that’s what I share as missionary. Simply that no one is alone.

My area we cover is small.....and there are probably all 8 of our district elders within 10 minutes of us....so sometimes we run into them! My comp and I are really eating healthy! Green drinks for breakfast, salads for lunch...although the members always give you lots of food AND desert :( ha-ha the lord provides for our needs. We came home yesterday and there was a package of yummy fruits in a bag for us with a love note! yay! I know this mission isn’t about me, but really, last march, sitting on the strip, at the worlds largest photography competition...I was sitting in the window of the MGM looking across the strip and said "I hate Las Vegas, and I’m never coming back." HAHA The lord is funny.

There are SOO many beautiful people here....and my family ward is so nice and they LOVE my eNNNERRGYYYYyeyeyey! hehe! I have adopted a Las Vegas grandmother, grandfather , dad, mom , and siblings haha! We are eating dinner tonight at the Baron's and the dad called to see what time we should come over. I answered the phone with "hello this is sister Sprouse!" and he said " Hello, this is brother Baron, you adopted my wife?" haha!!! Sorry mother....the women here are taking good care of us.

Right now my comp and I are planning LOTS of activities to do with the ward to help them get motivated to do missionary work. Each month we have a theme and a challenge for them. Anyways, how much can I write in one email?

Be good, be strong, and know that God lives and protects you! I PROMISE He is there for you every step of this life's journey. He already gave you His SON! Humble yourselves daily and recognize all your blessings come from God, and that we owe are lives to Him, and Jesus Christ!

"Hola, Soy represantante de la inlgesia de jesucristo son las santos son las ultimate dias. estamos compartiendo un mesage acerca de Jesucristo acerca de como las familias pueden vivir por la eternindad. Le gustaria aprender mas acerca de este mensage?"

REMEMBER TO SMILE!!!!!! :) BE happy!!!!! Be a happy servant of the lord!

Thinking of you often! Sister Sprouse!!!!! :) A very happy missionary--

When I am sad or just a little homesick, I think of NAUVOO and ALL my worries are cured! I picture myself at the banks of the peaceful Mississippi and I am home. Thank you for taking me there all those years.
This is a picture of Jenna’s first companion!

Raw Foods For Great Health!

My companion is converting to raw foods; she is trying to loose 40 lbs!!! Hooray! I made our first green drink this morning! YUM KALE! There was a HUGE talent show on Christmas day in the MTC ! An elder did MUSCLE testing, BUT with thoughts! He had everyone in the audience think a negative thought about the person he was muscle testing on...and his arm went down like that! This was a HUGE Tongan guy....try it out. I taught 2 people in Whole Foods yesterday how to muscle test, and I taught a lady all about distilled water at Wal-Mart too!

Merry Christmas!

Home Sweet Home! An attached garage works great!

They Said I Brought The SNOW!

HELLO Family!!!

Thanks for all of your love and support! People are mad at me out here- they say that I brought the cold weather!! It SNOWED today 2 in and it NEVVVVER snows in Las Vegas! It’s pretty cold out here unfortunately. My companion, Sister Cockrell, is amazing! We have so much fun together!!!!! She rocks and we laugh a lot! :) The people we are teaching are amazing!!! I have felt a deep connection with many of them. By day 4 of the mission, it was like, "how would my life have been if I DIDN’T serve a mission!??" IT ROCKS!!! Everyday, waking up with the rising sun and falling to your knees, next to your companion, and praying that the Lord will guide you! :) Hooray! We get done with our companionship studies at 10:00 am and then we hit the road with appointments and tracking. Our area is very small--full of RICH houses!! It’s sad, because we can’t tract in gated communities, but we definitely knock on the doors we can. We actually had this yellow lab dog follow us and tract 20 doors with us! It was lost, and wouldn’t leave us lol!!! We took it home, and later the owners came...so funny.

So we cover a singles ward, and a family ward! Both SOO FUN! The people out here are great!!!!! My new Las Vegas family....:) I hope you all had a GREAT and wonderful Christmas season and New Years!! I woke up at midnight, because I could hear the thunder of the fireworks from the strip! lol there is lots of evil here, but lots of good. Both extremes!! My district brothers are so funny. I will send picture later.

God bless and stay safe! ALOHA au ia 'oe! Sister Sprouse
Be Bold, Be Strong, and Be Courageous!

Fun!

Family and Friends!

An apostle is coming to speak to us for Christmas, we can’t wait!

Gym is fun! Life is fun!!! The amount of sisters are dwindling as they leave for their missions :( its so sad, but good that you make new friends. Like on my floor in my apartment, I’m making so many good friends and then they leave. Its okay, I feel like they are my soul sisters!

Please choose the right, always. Our dear mother has raised us VERY strong!!!!! We are totally anchors in the stormy sea. My main buddy from Georgia going to the Brooklyn hood (and is black) and Elder Hanny keep telling me that my family is the "family from Enoch" haha that god just put them back down on the earth and that is us...they keep calling me "child of Enoch" haha! One thing that I have learned is to be "bold with love" so I am excited to stay bold, but with more lovvvveeeeeee..

Elder Hanny (district spiritual leader) and Elder Nelson (nelson is quite, a woodworker and fun) are great! Last night Elder Hanny just bore his testimony crying about how much he loves the savior....so awesome!

I can’t wait to get out into the field!! We keep watching movies about the field; I just got to get out there! YAY!!!!! Being a missionary is everything I’ve wanted to be. when we sit in devotionals I think" I can’t believe I’m in the MTC" I can’t believe I am actually here" its still hitting me...anyways 5 days left!!!! Yikes!!!!

I love you all!! Grandma and pa-miss you!! :)

We cleaned the temple today...:) got to clean the celestial room, I got to clean the vases and flower center pieces. And we cleaned 3 ordinance rooms so spectacular

Its so fun seeing missionaries going to different countries, they rock. Standing next to them in the salad line....and trying to speak their language! So fun!

Our district was one of few to be on this pilot program--totally intense...teaching so many lessons!! Almost 20 ! GOOD PRACTICE I tell ya!!!

so many of my friends are changing their eating habits~ Elder Eyre has eczema on his hands and he is going dairy free for 3 weeks, I promised him in that time it would go away!!! :) Also elder Quinn broke down and told me he has fibromyalgia....yikes..and sis Pallferewmen has a severe case of endometriosis. Mom is there a cure??

I feel so healthy, thanks for the rocking herbs

PLEASE REMEMBER TO HAVE JOY in this Christmas season

AHHHHHH

I’m going crazy! Only have 24:53 minutes left to type...doing laundry right now in the BIGGEST laundry mat I have ever been in, so I apologize for my punctuation! The MTC (Missionary Training Center) is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!! There are 600 new missionaries coming in today!!! It FINALLY snowed and we woke up to a beautiful snow covered MTC ! There are probably 200-250 sister missionaries, and at least 1700 elders. Who knows. We are out numbered but we are WAY special! I miss you all and love you! All of the elders race to open the doors for the sisters, and they take our trays at lunch, and stand up when we walk in the room! its pretty crazy awesome! Everyone here ROCKS! My "district" has 6 elders and 4 sisters, of the sisters we all room together. Our district is awesome!!!!!! We are part of a pilot program meaning our program is very intense!!!!! I can’t even tell you...the first few days of the mtc where the longest of my life!!! Wake up at 6:30 eat at 7:00 leave the classroom at 9:30 go to bed at 10:30 !!! ahhh on Sunday ahhh we had 12 meetings PLUS 3 meals! haha! And that was Sunday! Relief Society rocks, we has sister Chirstopherson come and speak to us, one of the apostles wives.

I am part of the MTC choir! 7 rows of sisters and 20 rows of elders. When we sing, it sounds like beautiful waves of voices, from the bases to the altos and sopranos, it sounds like heaven. We had a devotional and a member of the 70 came! Also last weeks devotional the BYU men's choir came and preformed for us!!!! EPIC! Everyone here loves the mtc and the missionaries. Everyone wants to serve us. Wow. There is just so much to say!!!! The spirit has been so strong EVERY DAY !!!!!!! My prayers are so real. My mind races each night and I go to bed at 11.30 or 12. I pray so long and have so much to think about. When u walk thorough the mtc everyone’s humming or singing church songs! We are excited to see who we get for Christmas to speak to us! Missionaries going to other countries stop us sometimes and practice teaching us in their new language. Some people are hear for 9 weeks!!! I was called to be the coordinating sister for my district, so i go to EXTRA meetings , which are fun, and help the sisters around me! We went to the temple today!!! So pretty, its at the bottom of the mountains,...white snow....Christmas music....fog on top of the mountains....fun elders and sisters! Life is perfect!

I’ve been keeping a spiritual / note journal...its amazing learning so much. With this new pilot program we are actually teaching 22 lessons bf we even get out of the mtc!! !yikes! 4 lessons down to investigators (real or fake. never know) preach my gospel (manual) is my new best friend! I sleep with my nametag HAHA~ oh and I have tons of new sister friends on my apartment flat! There are strong sisters, and less confident sisters, elders here to work hard, elders here who have to keep working harder. Everyone is different.

Best news ever!!! My whole district (we sit next to each other in the cafeteria) holds 600.....know that you can cure cancer with raw food! I have elder Quiin on a 10 diet program! HAHA! He asked for my help too! Everyone is making changes. The elders are going more vegetarian, and are eating bigger salads!! I have given Oil of Oregano to my sick companion...its healing her!!! And also I have given ginger to my sick teacher...and headache be gone....I have a new name of " doctor Sprouse" haha! I am just so happy. Anyways if you want to write me go to dearelder.com and if you send a letter by noon, I get it the same day. That is only in the mtc. Also if you want to send Christmas packages (don’t have to) cut off day is Dec 22 until after Christmas! I hope everyone is doing well!!! u rock!!!! I love you!!!!!

its so funny, I wrote in my other journal one night "I actually had time to brush my teeth!" I am staying WAY healthy, and its because of the way I eat...with BIG salads everyday!! SOOO GOOOD and thanks for the vitamins mom!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are all so close as family, they are all so awesome!!!! I will have to write more and attach pictures later. Only 7 min left to write. Anyways lets see, Eric EVERYTHING u need for your mission as in books and white t shirts u can get in the mtc bookstore for 50% off everything!!!!!

Thanks for the dear elder letter Abbey!!! U rock! Grandma and grandpa thanks for the Christmas package, haven’t opened it yet though! Mom the Mormon tab choir sings a devotional peace every Sunday at 9.30 watch it! Or tape it every sun and have it playing when u get home! Also I got this brother going to the NY south mission!! He is so rad! Its awesome having lived in NY city....I can connect with so many people!
